This metal detail set from the Polish maker Aber in 1:16 scale brings fine filler caps for German jerrycans of 20 liters and lids for fuel drums of 200 liters. It is not a model but an accessory that replaces the coarsely molded caps and lids with realistic photo-etched and turned parts. The choice A variant represents one of the designs of the caps.
The 20 liter jerrycan and the 200 liter steel drum were part of the ordinary equipment of German units of the Second World War for carrying fuel and water. Their caps and lids are small but conspicuous features that catch the eye in a larger scale.
Separate the photo-etched and turned parts from the fret and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). First remove the original molded cap and sand the surface smooth. Once glued on, paint them together with the jerrycan and add weathering to match the degree of wear.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the jerrycans are not included in the package.
