This photo-etched detail set from the Polish maker Aber in 1:16 scale holds the fine grilles over the engine and cooling compartment of a Panther Ausf.G tank model. Fine photo-etched mesh replaces the coarser plastic covers and markedly raises the realism of the rear deck plate. It is not a model but an accessory.
The Panther Ausf.G had a set of cooling and ventilation openings on the rear of the hull covered by steel grilles, which protected the radiators and the engine compartment. On a large model these grilles are a striking and clearly visible element.
The set will be appreciated by builders of large Panther Ausf.G models who want realistic grilles at the rear. Working with fine photo-etched mesh calls for patience and suits more experienced modelers.
