An injection-molded plastic kit of the P.H.J. 101 Grosser Hund robotic combat suit in 1:20 scale from Hasegawa. The model comes from a stylized military science fiction universe and offers a sturdy, industrially conceived machine with a characteristic silhouette. The box holds the parts of the body, the limbs and the equipment.
Grosser Hund, meaning big dog, is one of the machines of a fantasy world that combines elements of earthly military vehicles with giant piloted suits. The design puts the emphasis on a functional, worn look to the machinery. The 1:20 scale is the usual one for this range and allows striking detail as well as a good display size.
Use thin cement for plastic and clean the flash off the parts. The model positively invites weathering: primer, an airbrush, chipping, washes and pigments will create a convincing used look. Dry fitting the moving and mating parts before gluing is recommended.
