An injection-molded plastic kit of the Nissan Skyline of the DR30 generation, 1984 model year, in the pattern of the Japanese tuner Jenesis Auto, in 1:24 from the maker Aoshima. Aoshima builds a whole range of kits after the work of a particular tuning shop, so the same car comes out in several forms. The distinguishing item is exactly the name of the tuner and the model year, because the production pattern, a period conversion and a later rebuild all differ in wheels, aerodynamics and detail. Several releases of the same subject may exist at the same time, so go by the exact designation.
The Skyline of the R30 generation with the DR30 chassis designation is among the best-known Japanese sports cars of the first half of the 1980s. The top RS and RS Turbo versions were powered by a two-liter FJ-series four-cylinder engine with twin overhead camshafts, a very powerful unit for its day. A later pattern with a one-piece front end and no grille earned a nickname from its unusual face. Mask the glazing and glue it with a glue that is gentle on clear plastic; prepare a gloss base under the decals.
