An injection-molded plastic kit of the Boeing 777-200ER airliner in 1:200 scale from the Japanese manufacturer Hasegawa. The finish matches the colors of the Japanese airline ANA, whose aircraft carry the company designation Inspiration of Japan. The number of parts, the contents of the decal sheet and any stand are stated on the box and in the enclosed instructions.
The Boeing 777 is a twin-engine widebody airliner for medium and long-haul routes, characterized by large engines, a long fuselage and landing gear with six-wheel main bogies. The 777-200ER version is the variant with a higher takeoff weight and a greater range than the basic 200. On the Japanese market the 777s are among the backbone of both long-haul and busy domestic routes; ANA uses the Inspiration of Japan designation for its cabin product and carries it on the fuselages of its aircraft as well.
On airliners what decides the result is a smooth and even surface, so it pays to sand the joints of the fuselage carefully, polish them and spray a base coat that reveals any imperfections. Spray the white areas in thin coats over a light primer so that they stay opaque and smooth. The decals on airliners tend to be large, and a gloss base, a softener and patient settling section by section all help. Cement the landing gear and the engine nacelles only at the end.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
