Aviattic 1:24 five-color lozenge pattern for upper surfaces (faded) — a full-width decal sheet with the faded five-color variant of the German camouflage of aircraft fabric from the First World War.
Responsibility details are not available.
A decal sheet from Aviattic with the five-color lozenge pattern in the faded version, made for the upper flying surfaces of models in 1:24 scale. Printing in the full width of the pattern makes it possible to cut continuous strips with the polygons correctly aligned.
The German printing of aircraft fabric existed in two basic generations. The four-color pattern worked with larger fields, while the five-color one added one more shade and made the polygons finer — from a distance it therefore looks more unified and less contrasting. The choice between them depends on the particular machine and period you are modeling; five-color printing is typical of the later part of the war. This variant moreover captures fabric faded by use, so it is ideal for front-line machines with a naturally weathered surface.
Prepare the base to a smooth gloss according to the manufacturer's instructions. Cut the strips with a sharp blade, lay them down one at a time and let the softener settle them around the ribs and the pressings. The faded shades are nicely completed by a fine filter and a final matte coat, which ties the strips together visually.
This is a decal sheet — the model, varnish and other accessories are not included in the package.
