An injection-molded plastic kit of the Citroën 2CV in the Charleston version in 1:24 scale from the French brand Heller. Charleston is the name of a special edition made famous by the two-tone body paint with a separate band running around the car — and that is exactly what makes the model a rewarding but also a more demanding painting job. The exact contents of the package, the number of parts and the extent of the decals are given in the instructions in the box.
The Citroën 2CV was a French people's car of simple design with an air-cooled two-cylinder engine at the front and front-wheel drive. Its characteristic features were the soft, long-travel suspension, the sliding canvas top and the removable body sections. The car was built for several decades with practically no change to its basic concept and became a symbol of undemanding mobility. The Charleston version was one of the late special editions with a striking two-tone finish.
Wash the body, sand the parting lines and spray it with primer. Spray the two-tone scheme in stages: the lighter shade first, then mask it once it has cured and apply the darker one. Use quality masking tape and press the edge down so that paint does not creep under. Build the interior and the chassis separately. Paint the canvas top matte and suggest the texture with gentle dry-brushing. Fit the chrome frames last and never glue them with cement for plastic, which would damage them.
