An injection-molded plastic kit of the legendary little French car, the Citroën 5CV, nicknamed Trèfle, that is the clover leaf. Among automobile models the 1:24 scale is one of the most widespread, so the model goes well with the rest of a collection. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; the number of parts and the contents of the package are described in the enclosed instructions.
The Citroën type C 5CV was produced in the first half of the 1920s and was one of the first genuinely affordable European automobiles. A small four-cylinder engine, a simple ladder frame and low weight made it a favorite car of city drivers and country doctors alike. The nickname Trèfle belongs to the body version with three places arranged in a triangle, two seats in front and one in the middle at the back — a plan resembling a clover leaf gave the car its name. Its characteristic features are tall wire wheels, a rounded rear end and an open body with a folding roof.
With historic automobiles the gloss of the paintwork is the key thing. Sand the body carefully, apply a primer and the paint in several thin coats; once it has dried, clear coat it with a gloss and polish it if needed. Paint and assemble the interior and the frame before you close the body up. Bring the wire wheels and fine fittings such as the lamps or the horn out separately, ideally with a fine brush, and rather apply the silver details at the end, so that they do not get dirty. An open body means that the interior will be visible, so it pays to spend time on it.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
