The Toyota Crown is one of the longest produced Japanese model lines, representing the class of large luxury sedans in the home range. The generation introduced in 2003 brought a new platform, a markedly stiffer body and modern powerplants. The type designation GRS182 corresponds to the version with a six-cylinder engine in a V arrangement, offered in a more sportily tuned trim. Rid the body carefully of flash and mold parting lines; on a sedan with long smooth flanks every imperfection is apparent under the paint. Work with a primer and apply the paint in thin coats; with dark metallic shades stirring the paint is fundamental, because the pigment settles at the bottom. Lay down a gloss clear coat before the decals, and once they have dried clear coat again and even the gloss out if needed. Deal with the chrome window frames and trim strips at the end, best with a metallic paint or with thin strips of foil. Tell the interior apart with shades of upholstery and a fine emphasis of the edges; with a sedan more is visible through the window than it seems.
