This is not a kit but a set of self-adhesive masks cut to the shape of the glazing of a model of the Mosquito FB Mk.VI fighter-bomber in 1:24 scale. The masks are cut into thin masking film on a carrier sheet, so it is enough to lift them off and stick them on. On a model of this size that is a large saving of time, because on a big surface every mistake in masking shows immediately.
The film conforms well to the curvature of the canopy and the windscreen and it adheres even in the corners, where straight tape forms ripples and paint creeps underneath. The set usually also holds discs for masking the tires, which helps noticeably with the large wheels of 1:24 scale. After spraying, the film is peeled off and leaves a sharp, straight edge.
Degrease the glazing before masking and let it dry thoroughly. Lift the mask off the sheet with tweezers or the tip of a scalpel, lay it on and press it down with a soft wooden tool so that the clear part does not get scratched. Spray the cockpit interior shade first, then the primer and the covering color of the airframe. Apply the paint in thin coats, otherwise a step will form on the edge. Remove the masks while the paint is still fresh, pulling sideways rather than straight up.
This is an accessory, not an aircraft model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
