The Nissan Skyline 2000 GT-R in the KPGC10 guise is a two-door coupe built at the beginning of the 1970s. The body has a fixed roof without a center pillar and angular shapes, to which the Japanese gave the nickname Hakosuka. Under the hood worked a two-liter inline six with a pair of camshafts in the head, an engine derived from racing hardware, and on it the car built up a series of victories on Japanese circuits. That is precisely why the Skyline of this generation is a fixture among collectors and modelers alike.
A plastic kit of the car in 1:24 scale. According to the name, photo-etched parts are part of it as well, that is, thin metal cutouts for places where plastic would have to be too thick. The number of parts, the extent of the photo-etched fret, the variants of the printing and how far the chassis and the engine bay are worked out are given in the instructions enclosed by the manufacturer.
Paint the body before you seat the small parts on it, and apply the paint in several thin layers; one heavy layer floods the edges and seams. Join the plastic parts with cement for polystyrene, but the photo-etched parts call for cyanoacrylate glue in a small amount and before painting they have to be degreased and given a base coat. Glue the glazing at the very end and only with a cement that does not go cloudy and does not fog the clear part.
The kit is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Paints, glue and tools are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
