An injection-molded plastic kit of the Japanese upper-class sedan in 1:24 scale from Aoshima. The name covers the pair of sister models Cedric and Gloria of the 430 type line, the four-door hardtop body version, the 280E engine and the luxury Brougham equipment level of 1982. The particular number of parts, the extent of the sprues and the contents of the decal sheet can be found in the instructions.
The Nissan Cedric and the Nissan Gloria were technically practically identical cars which differed mainly in the front end and in the sales network. The 430 type line was built from 1979 to 1983 and was offered as a sedan as well as a four-door hardtop, that is a body without a fixed pillar between the side windows. The 280E designation corresponds to an inline six-cylinder of roughly 2.8 liters with fuel injection, while the Brougham equipment represented the best equipped variant with a richer upholstered interior. The 430 line is today a sought-after youngtimer in Japan and the basis of the style of the so-called VIP sedans.
The angular body of the 1980s will show every unevenness, so smooth the surfaces carefully with a filler primer and wet sanding. Apply the paint in thin coats, and finally a gloss varnish and polishing. There are plenty of chrome features on this subject; it pays to paint them separately and fit them at the very end, and the fine trim strips can be brought out with a chrome marker or a brush. An interior in a lighter shade with a fine accentuation of the edges looks more convincing than a uniform dark area.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
