Responsibility details are not available.
A car kit of injection-molded plastic in the classic collectors' scale 1:24. The manufacturer is the Japanese company Fujimi, which has models of cars in this scale as one of its main lines. The name of the box states both versions of the 911, the Carrera 2 as well as the Carrera 4, so the subject is the particular generation of the 911 denoted by the internal code 964, and not a general 911 silhouette.
The Carrera 2 and Carrera 4 designations were brought in by Porsche precisely with the 964 generation, which was built from the end of the 1980s. The power unit was an air-cooled flat six of 3.6 liters mounted behind the rear axle. The Carrera 4 was the first production 911 with permanent all-wheel drive, while the Carrera 2 stayed with classic rear-wheel drive. The body of the 964 is told from older 911s by the smoothly integrated plastic bumpers and the automatically extending rear wing, which rose from the engine lid at higher speed. In shape, though, it stayed faithful to the original silhouette of the 1960s.
With a car kit it is above all the quality of the finish that decides. First rid the body parts of flash and parting seams, sand them with fine sandpaper and apply a filler primer, which will reveal the remaining unevennesses. Spray the top coat with an airbrush in thin layers and finish it with gloss varnish, which can be polished once hardened. Apply the decals only onto a polished glossy surface, otherwise a silvery rim will appear under them. Mask the glazing before spraying, leave the chromed parts without primer and finish the interior, by contrast, with matte or semi-matte varnish, so that it contrasts with the glossy body.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
