Auxiliary measuring instruments in 1:24 scale, the round dials that modelers and motorists alike call clocks. This is a detail accessory for the cabin of a car model being built, from the Polish brand Yamamoto Model Parts, not a clock and not a kit. The English name of the item uses the word clocks, but what is meant are the round gauges on the dashboard.
Modified cars get additional gauges over and above the production instrument panel, for boost pressure, oil temperature and pressure, coolant temperature or voltage. They are fitted where the driver can see them without turning his eyes away from the road: on the A-pillar, in a holder above the center console or in a strip under the windshield. They are round instruments with a dark dial, a bright needle and a glossy lens, so even on a model they amount to a few very striking points in an otherwise matte interior.
The procedure here is fine modeling work rather than fitting. Clean the mold release agent off the castings, separate them from the casting block with a new razor blade and level the back face on sandpaper laid on a board, so that a gauge does not sit crooked on the dashboard. Drill the holes in the plastic part you want to seat them in one at a time with a micro drill and keep checking the spacing as you go, as one hole is easier to put right than four. Paint the dial in matte black and the needle in red or white with a fine brush. The effect of glass is made with a drop of clear varnish or of a gloss fixative coat applied with a pin, as surface tension makes the drop curve up into the shape of a lens by itself. Do not count on decal dials, as their presence is not stated here. They are glued with a minimum of super glue.
This is an accessory to a model, not a kit in its own right. The parts are supplied unpainted; glue, paints and decals are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
