The bunker with a closed hatch is one of the diorama props of the Front46 range, the retro science fiction world of the manufacturer MAiM. The Uniscale designation means a universal scale: the prop is conceived primarily for 1:24, but given the character of the object you will also find good use for it in scenes in neighboring scales, where only a slight adjustment to the composition is needed.
A massive defensive structure works as a natural focal point of a scene: a combat vignette, a guard post or an abandoned post-apocalyptic corner can all be built around it. The closed hatch gives a scene tension, because the viewer cannot help asking who or what is inside. The prop sits well with the figures and vehicles of the Front46 range, but it will serve just as convincingly in a general military scene.
Clean the casting up, wash it and spray it with primer. A concrete surface is best sold by layering: a light base, irregular shades of gray laid on with a sponge, a dark wash in the joints and around the hatch and finally dust pigments at the foot of the structure. Set the bunker into its base with soil and static grass, and peeling markings or traces of hits will fill the scene out.
The prop is supplied as an unpainted casting to be cleaned up and painted. Figures, vehicles and other accessories are not included in the package.
