1:29 Snowspeeder – 40th Anniversary is a plastic kit of the rebel snow speeder in 1:29 scale, released by Revell as an anniversary boxing.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:29 scale. It is an anniversary release marking the jubilee of the film in which the machine appeared. It is built in the classic way, that is by separating the parts from the sprues, cleaning them up, joining them with cement for plastic and painting them. The number of parts, the contents of the decal sheet and whether a stand or figures are included are given by the contents printed on the packaging.
The Snowspeeder is a fictional low-flying machine from the Star Wars saga, adapted for operation in an icy environment and made famous by the scene of the battle on a frozen planet. It has a two-seat cockpit with the pilot in front and the gunner behind, a wedge-shaped hull, prominent airbrakes at the rear and a cable with a hook that plays a key role in the story. Compared with the large spacecraft it is a compact machine, so even in the fairly large 1:29 scale the model takes up a reasonable amount of space.
Finish and paint the cockpit with both seats before you close it with the glazing. Mask the glazing and glue it with an adhesive for clear parts so that it does not go matte. Apply the light base shade onto a smooth surface, otherwise every shortcoming of the sanding will stand out. Suggest the wear with restraint: abrasion of the edges, darker flow into the panel lines and a light gray soiling around the nozzles. Use a gloss clear coat before the decals, and a final matte clear coat will unify the surface. Suggested traces of frost belong to the machine as well, but choose them only as a faint touch.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
