A printed sheet with a four-color lozenge pattern in 1:32 scale, supplemented with a printed canvas texture. It replaces spraying the camouflage pattern onto the covered areas of a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
The lozenge pattern was a printed fabric covering used on German aircraft during the First World War. Irregular fields of color played the role of camouflage and saved the factory the work of painting. On a model it is, conversely, a pattern that is extremely difficult to imitate by hand, because the fields have to have the same size and the same slant across the whole area.
The four-color rendering of the pattern in 1:32 scale, additionally with a printed canvas texture. That gives the area a depth that the color pattern alone does not have: under the varnish the weave of the cloth is visible and the area stops looking like smooth plastic.
First finish the area of the model and overcoat it to a gloss; on a matte base silvery patches appear under the print. Divide the sheet into pieces according to the shape of the area, with a small overhang for adjustment; large pieces lay badly over curves. Soak the piece briefly, let it rest, slide it onto the area and press the water out with a soft cloth from the center to the edges. A decal softener helps the transfer settle onto the leading edge and into the transitions. Once dry, unify the area with varnish and only then add the tapes over the ribs and the markings.
For modelers of First World War aircraft in a large scale who want faithful covering and do not want to spray the pattern through masks. The leftover pieces of the sheet will come in useful on small areas of other machines you build.
The model, paints, decal softener and varnish are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
