Sparco Sprint bucket seats in 1:24 scale, two resin castings in one package.
Responsibility details are not available.
Sparco came about in 1977 in Turin and behind it stood competition drivers for whom the range of protective equipment of the day was not enough. The Sprint type gradually became the most widespread item in their catalog: a restrained outline, a deep cushion and distinctly drawn-up shoulders. You will therefore come across it everywhere, from Sunday hillclimb time trials to twenty-four-hour endurance races.
The set fits out both front positions. The detail includes the seam around the upholstery, the recesses for the shoulders and the rectangular slots through which the strap passes; anyone who wants to go further can open them up with a drill and run a strip of woven ribbon through them.
Black composite is not perfectly matte but rather has a slight satin cast. Matte black covered with a very thin layer of semi-gloss captures that well. The logo on the backrest can be suggested with a thin brush, but at this scale it tends to be cleaner to cut it from a decal sheet from another set.
The series seats in kits tend to be cast in a simplified way so that they can be taken out of a two-part mold. A separate casting has no such limitation, so the side wings can be thin and undercut the way they look in reality. The difference is visible above all when you are building a car with a removable roof or open doors and the cabin can be seen into. One last small thing helps as well: a seat never stands exactly level, and tilting the backrest back by a few degrees gives a cabin the naturalness that nobody consciously notices but without which a model looks stiff.
