A decal sheet with the five-color lozenge in the full width of the pattern, made for the upper surfaces of German aircraft of the First World War, in a faded version.
Responsibility details are not available.
During the First World War the German air service had the covering fabric of its aircraft printed with a regular pattern of irregular polygons, which to this day is called lozenge. The pattern replaced laborious spraying of camouflage and differed according to where on the aircraft it went: the upper surfaces received the darker five-color variant, the lower ones the lighter. This sheet carries precisely the five-color pattern for the upper surfaces.
The pattern is printed in the full width, that is as it was on the original fabric, so on the model you do not have to put narrow strips together side by side. The version is faded and matches fabric that had already served for some time under sun and rain, not a freshly covered machine. That is often more credible on models of the First World War than rich printing.
The sheet will be appreciated by modelers who build German machines of the First World War and do not want to spray the lozenge laboriously through masks. The model, paints, softener and varnish are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
