1:32 B-17F/G Flying Fortress wheels with weighted tires type c (RA) are the third tread variant of resin wheels for the late Flying Fortresses. A detail accessory to a model, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
Armory offers three tread variants of main wheels for the late Flying Fortresses, and this product is the third, designated type c (RA). It holds resin wheels with weighted tires for the B-17F and B-17G versions. It is not a model of the aircraft; the set replaces the wheels on the landing gear of a model built from a separately sold kit.
The method is simple. Find a photograph of the machine you want to build and zoom in on the main wheel. Watch whether the tread has longitudinal grooves, a diamond pattern or a smoother surface, and what the transition from the sidewall to the hub looks like. Choose type a, b or c accordingly. If you do not have a particular photograph, it is not a mistake anyone could disprove; wheels were changed in service and one aircraft could even carry two different types at the same time. That is exactly why the manufacturer distinguishes the variants with a letter in the name itself.
Wash the castings in warm soapy water, cut the casting block off and level the surface wet on abrasive paper; wear respiratory protection when sanding resin. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue. Check the hole for the axle dry with a drill. The tire will take a dark gray matte shade, not black; when painting with an airbrush, very low pressure and a fine covering coat are enough, so that the fine tread pattern is not clogged. The lettering on the sidewall can be suggested with a very thinned lighter shade applied with a dry brush. Paint the hub according to the particular machine and separate it with a masking ring.
This is an accessory set, not a model of the aircraft. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package. Check the match with the landing gear of your own model beforehand.
