A turned metal pitot tube for the Republic F-105 Thunderchief in 1:32 scale from the Polish manufacturer MASTER, a precise replacement for the plastic part from the kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a turned metal detail set, not an aircraft model. The turned brass pitot (pressure) tube replaces the inaccurate and vulnerable plastic part from an F-105 kit in 1:32 scale. Metal holds precise geometry, has a sharper end and does not suffer the typical bending or breaking of thin plastic.
The Republic F-105 Thunderchief, nicknamed the Thud, was an American supersonic fighter-bomber deployed intensively in the Vietnam War. It was among the largest single-seat single-engine combat aircraft of its time and carried a prominent pitot tube on the nose, which the set reproduces faithfully.
Cut off the plastic tube, drill a hole of the correct diameter and glue the metal part in with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Degrease the brass before painting and coat it with a primer. Work with tweezers; the part is small and easily pings away.
An accessory for a plastic kit. The model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
