The masking set HGW 1:32 Fw 190F-8 holds pre-cut masks for the framing of the canopy, thanks to which sharp transitions between glass and paint come about.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not a kit but an aid for painting a model. The set holds pre-cut self-adhesive masks for the frames of the canopy, so laborious cutting of strips of adhesive tape and measuring by eye becomes unnecessary. The masks are stuck onto the glass, the area is sprayed over with the frame color and once dry the mask is taken off. The result is a sharp edge with no paint seeping under it, which is hard to reach by hand masking in a large scale. The maker is the Czech firm HGW.
The Focke-Wulf Fw 190F-8 was the ground-attack version of the German fighter meant for supporting ground units. It differed from the fighter versions mainly in equipment for carrying bombs and in changes to the armor. A model in 1:32 offers a large canopy, on which the quality of the masking is visible at first glance.
First wash and degrease the glass, as a mask does not hold on a greasy surface. Carry the parts with tweezers or the tip of a scalpel, press them down with a cotton swab along the whole length of the frame, so that the edge does not lift anywhere. Spray the paint in thin layers, as a heavy layer will seep under and create a step. Take the mask off shortly after the paint has dried, not after several days, otherwise it can tear the paint off. The inner side of the cockpit is usually painted in the interior shade, the outer frames in the upper camouflage shade.
An accessory for a kit. Paints, glue and the kit itself are not included in the package.
