HGW 1:32 Halberstadt Cl.II, seat harness is a set of textile belts for the cockpit of a model of this German two-seat aircraft of the First World War. An accessory for a model, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of harness belts in 1:32 scale from the Czech maker HGW, cut for the model of the two-seat Halberstadt Cl.II aircraft named in the product name. The belts are made of a thin textile, so they can be bent, allowed to sag and shaped exactly like a real strap. That is their main advantage over belts made from a strip of plastic or from photo-etched parts alone.
On models of First World War aircraft in a large scale, an open cockpit is the most closely inspected place. A seat without belts gives away at once that the interior was left at the level of the contents of the box. A textile belt, by contrast, falls naturally over the edge of the seat, can be threaded around the backrest and its edges are not sharp as they are with metal. The result is a cockpit that looks lived in, even if you do not put a pilot figure in it.
First shape the belts gently in your fingers and only then glue them. Use cyanoacrylate glue applied with the tip of a wire rather than from the tube, so that the textile does not soak through. Hold the shape so that the belt follows gravity: part of it across the seat, part hanging freely over the edge. If you want to match the shade to the interior, the textile can be toned with thinned paint or a brown wash, but let it dry out completely, or it will stiffen. Fit the belts before you close the fuselage; once the halves are together you will not get into the cockpit.
This is a modeling accessory for the particular model named in the name. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
