Wheel bay plugs for a model of the Tempest Mk.V fighter in 1:48 scale. They are inserted into the open bay before spraying and keep paint from the outer coat getting inside. They thus save the most tedious part of masking, because a complex bay is hard to fill with tape and a gap will be left in it anyway. Besides that, they protect the fine details inside the bay while the model is handled.
The set is built for the Tempest Mk.V kit from the Eduard company in 1:48 scale, so the shape matches the bays of that kit. The Hawker Tempest Mk.V was a British fighter from the end of the Second World War, known for its high speed at low level.
First finish and paint the bay, and only then insert the plug. It seats on the rim of the bay, so do not push it in by force, or the rim will spread and the plug will not come out afterwards. Take it out after spraying while the paint has only just dried; once fully cured, the film of paint tears on the edge. Before further masking, check that no paint residue is left on the seating surface, which would throw the shape of the plug out.
The aircraft kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
