Four Matra 155 unguided rocket pods in 1:32 scale, an accessory for models of combat aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Matra 155 is a French unguided rocket pod. It hangs on pylons under the wing or under the fuselage and was among the armament of French-built combat aircraft, where it served for attacks on ground targets. On a model it is a prominent feature that fills otherwise empty pylons and gives the machine a combat look rather than a purely ferry one.
The set contains four pieces in 1:32 scale. It is therefore possible to fit several pylons at once and keep the remaining piece as a spare in case a small shape is damaged during the work.
The parts are not polystyrene and ordinary cement for plastic will not join them; use cyanoacrylate. Cut excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder down carefully, so that the shape of the pod itself is not spoiled. Wash and degrease the parts before painting, otherwise the paint will not hold on the surface. The particular preparation procedure is given in the manufacturer's instructions. When fitting them, drill a hole in the pylon and in the pod with a fine bit and join them with a wire pin; a joint like that holds considerably better than gluing butt to butt. Finally, check that the pods hang parallel to the longitudinal axis of the aircraft and at the same height, because asymmetry in the underwing stores shows on a finished model more than any other detail.
The set is for builders of aircraft in 1:32 scale who want convincing armament under the wings, and also for those who build up a stock of underwing stores for several models in progress.
The model, the kit, the pylons, the paints and the glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
