Aerobonus 1:32 Modern Russian Air Force Fighter Pilot is an unpainted resin figure of a contemporary fighter pilot in flight gear, intended for models in 1:32 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A stand-alone figure of cast resin in 1:32 scale from the Aerobonus brand, which is made by the Czech company Aires. It represents a contemporary Russian fighter pilot in complete flight gear: a pressure suit, a survival vest and a helmet with an oxygen mask. The figure is supplied unpainted and is intended as an accessory to a large aircraft model or to an airfield scene.
It is a casting of a single figure; Aerobonus sets tend to be split into torso, head and arms so that the pose can be adjusted, but you will find the exact division of the parts only in the package. In 1:32 scale a figure gives the model a sense of scale and of size; without a figure beside it a large model looks flatter. It works both standing by the aircraft and, after a small adjustment of the arms, seated in the cockpit.
Wash the casting first in warm water with detergent because of the mold release agent. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a cutter and sand the parting seams wet and with your airways protected. The parts are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) and the seams are filled once glued. Spray on a primer; on figures it reveals every imperfection of the surface. Work through the painting from the base areas of the suit and the vest, through shading in a darker shade in the folds, to the lighter edges picked out dry. Do the face and the transparent visor of the helmet last, with the finest brush. A matte varnish at the end unifies the surface of the fabric, while the harness and the hoses can be left slightly glossy.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted as a resin casting. Glue, paints and the aircraft model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
