Eight marking variants of the French MS 406 fighter in 1:32, mostly machines of Polish pilots from 1940.
Responsibility details are not available.
The single-seat MS 406 fighter was the most numerous type of the French Air Force at the beginning of the war. Against its contemporary opponents it fell behind in speed and climb, but it had good agility and a motor cannon in the cockpit firing through the propeller hub. A number of Polish pilots who carried on in France after the fall of their country took part in the fighting with it.
Four subjects belong to combat groups: the machines with the fuselage numbers L980 and L720 flew with the group GC I/2, one of them flown by Josef Brzezinski and the other by S. Chalupa; the machine number 947 is linked with Antoni Beda and another, number 621, with the group GC III/1. The remaining four come from fighter schools, where the aircraft carried a simple letter marking in addition to a number, for example C or E. The number 948 belonged to W. Chciuk.
At this large scale even details such as the outlines of the numbers and the shading of the letters stand out, and they make up the character of French prewar markings. The sheet is printed so that the whole set can be used even if the builder chooses only one finish. The remaining motifs stay usable in reserve.
