A decal sheet in 1:32 scale for the early P-47D razorback from the fighting over New Guinea, part three of the series.
Responsibility details are not available.
The P-47 Thunderbolt was among the heaviest single-engine fighters of its day. The early machines tend to have the spine of the fuselage drawn right out behind the cockpit, hence the nickname razorback. In 1:32 scale the model is large and the markings on it play the leading part, because a single-color or sand-weathered finish tells no story by itself.
The package contains a decal sheet in 1:32 scale for the early razorbacks over New Guinea; this is part three of the series, and the individual parts offer different machines. How many markings are on the sheet, which particular aircraft it targets and what the instructions say about them should be checked in the enclosed instructions.
The area under the decal should be smooth and given a gloss clear coat; a flat or grainy surface traps air under the element and the edge goes white after drying. Cut the elements off one at a time. The usual procedure is the wet one: a brief dip in lukewarm water, a moment on the paper, the move to its place, aligning it and drawing the water out with a cotton swab from the center outward. Decal softener will help the element settle into rivets and transitions. At the end, give the model a clear coat. Before you soak the sheet, check in the instructions whether it is a self-adhesive release: a soaked self-adhesive film is ruined beyond recovery, whereas a waterslide decal that has not been soaked can be soaked later.
It will be appreciated by modelers of large scales who build the Pacific Thunderbolt and want markings outside the usual range of the kits. Check that your kit is a razorback and not the version with a bubble canopy; the shape of the fuselage spine is different and some elements would not fit. The model, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
