FLY 1:32 Rotachute Mk I is a short-run plastic kit of the early version of the British experimental single-seat rotor kite.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:32 scale with additional resin parts, released in short-run production by FLY. It captures the first version of the experimental Rotachute rotor kite. In the larger scale the simple framework construction of the early machine stands out.
The Hafner Rotachute was a British experimental single-seat rotor kite of the early 1940s, designed by Raoul Hafner. It was to serve as a replacement for the parachute in dropping a single soldier, who hung beneath a freely turning rotor and descended to the ground without power. The Mk I version represents an early development form of this concept.
This is a short-run mold, so expect to clean up the parts and prepare the joints of the fine framework more carefully. Wash the mold release agent off the resin parts, cut off the casting blocks and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The slender structure benefits from precise gluing and subtle shades when painting.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
