HGW masking set – Salmson 2-A2 (1:32)

A set of HGW self-adhesive masks for a model of the French two-seat Salmson 2-A2 in 1:32 scale. It is neither a model nor a decal — these are pre-cut masks that are stuck onto the parts, oversprayed with paint and peeled off once dry. That gives sharp edges with none of the thickness of a decal.

The real subject

The Salmson 2-A2 was a French two-seat reconnaissance aircraft of the First World War powered by a radial engine. It was built in large numbers and was used by the American air service on the Western Front as well.

Use

• Separate the film, stick it onto a clean surface and press the edges down.
• Spray the paint in thin coats so that it does not creep under the mask.
• Once the paint has set, carefully peel the mask off.
