Aviattic 1:32 stripped rudder for the Fokker Dr.I and D.VI: an accessory capturing a rudder with its fabric covering removed, a striking element for dioramas and vignettes from behind the lines of the Great War.
Responsibility details are not available.
This accessory from the manufacturer Aviattic in 1:32 scale represents the rudder of the Fokker Dr.I and D.VI in the stripped state, that is with its fabric covering removed. Such an element tells a story at once: a rudder leaning against the wall of a hangar during a repair, a trophy taken from a machine that has been shot down, or a part waiting for new fabric in a workshop.
The tail surfaces of Fokkers were made of a light frame covered with fabric. The covering was taken off during repairs, and souvenir hunters of the Great War were fond of carrying off exactly the rudders of downed machines with their national insignia. A rudder without its covering reveals the structure that usually stays hidden on finished models, which is why it makes a rewarding accent in a diorama.
Separate the casting carefully from the casting blocks, clean it up and wash it. Paint the structure according to the story you have in mind: a fresh part, a worn frame with marks from its clips, or a weathered trophy. A fine wash will bring out the structure, and dry pigments will add the dust of a workshop. The accessory can be used on its own in a vignette or as part of a larger airfield scene.
This is a diorama accessory, a rudder on its own and not a complete model of an aircraft. It is supplied unpainted.
