A set of three-dimensional decals for the interior of the cockpit of the Su-25SM in 1:32 scale. The decals carry a color print and at the same time have physical relief, so once applied they create an intricate surface on the instrument panel and the side consoles. It is not a kit but an accessory intended for a plastic model.
The Su-25SM is a modernized version of the single-seat attack aircraft with revised avionics and navigation equipment. In the large 1:32 scale the cockpit is sizeable and clearly visible at a normal glance at a finished model, so a flat print or simplified painting shows on it at once. Relief decals stand out here most of all the scales, because the individual elements have a large enough area to cast a shadow and to reflect light differently from their surroundings.
The base must be cured, degreased, smooth and coated with gloss varnish, because the elements have no adhesive layer of their own and hold on the gloss itself. Leave the cut-out part in lukewarm water for about fifteen seconds and slide it off the paper into place. Larger panels sit down more easily in a large scale, but a bubble also shows up on them more quickly, so press smoothly from the center outward and do not hurry. On rounded edges it helps to hold the part for a moment, or to back it with a drop of cyanoacrylate glue. Sand down in advance any sharp raised elements on the plastic that would lift the new layer. Do not use a decal softener or fixer for classic decals, as their chemicals attack the printed resin. At the end, seat the cockpit together without glue as a trial, and only then close it.
This is an add-on decal set. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
