This is NOT a kit but a detail accessory. It is a turned brass pitot tube of the streamline type in 1:32 scale, supplied as 1 piece. The metal rendering faithfully captures the aerodynamic shape of the probe, which is difficult to produce in plastic.
A pitot tube senses the dynamic pressure of the air for measuring airspeed. The streamline type has a rounded, aerodynamically shaped body and was used on a range of American military aircraft of the Second World War.
Cut the original plastic part off, clean the hole up and set the metal tube in place with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Degrease the part before gluing. The brass can be left bare or painted.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
