Aber — a 20 mm nkm wz.38 FK-A barrel with a prototype muzzle brake in 1:35 scale is a turned metal accessory for models of the Polish TKS tankette.
Responsibility details are not available.
A turned metal barrel in 1:35 scale from the Polish manufacturer Aber, representing the 20 mm nkm wz.38 FK-A automatic cannon with a prototype muzzle brake. It is intended as an upgrade replacement for the plastic barrel for models of the Polish TKS tankette. It is not a stand-alone model but an accessory to a base kit.
The TKS tankette was a light tracked machine of the Polish army of the 1930s, developed from the TK line on the basis of the concept of the British Carden-Loyd carrier. Its standard machine gun armament was weak against armored equipment, so at the end of the 1930s some of the machines were rearmed with the 20 mm nkm wz.38 FK-A automatic cannon. It was precisely the 20 mm TKS that in September 1939 were among the few Polish machines able to threaten German light tanks. The variant with the prototype muzzle brake captures the trial form of this weapon.
Degrease the metal barrel, seat it in the gun mantlet and secure it with cyanoacrylate glue. Thanks to the turning there is no sanding of parting seams, and the perforation and the shapes of the muzzle brake stay perfectly crisp. Before painting use a primer with good adhesion to metal; a fine dark wash then brings out the steps in the profile of the barrel.
An accessory set; the base tankette kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
