It differs from the other variants of the range in its sole pattern, which in this case is Chinese, so it suits scenes with the corresponding equipment and crews.
A print in mud is a detail that everyone who looks at a diorama close up sees, and at the same time it is among the most frequently skimped. When the sole pattern does not match the footwear of the figures in the scene, the tableau will pass at first glance, but on a detailed look it grates. The variant with a Chinese pattern deals with precisely that case: it allows consistency to be kept between who stands in the scene and what they left behind in the terrain. The prints also lead the viewer's eye, as they can suggest where the crew came from and how they walked around the vehicle.
Impress them into modeling compound or acrylic paste while the surface is still pliable, and moisten the surface of the tool beforehand or coat it with a release agent. Apply the pressure in one movement and vary the depth: in a soaked spot a deeper print with a squeezed-up edge, on the drier side only a suggestion. Do not forget that a track does not end at the edge of the mud: with transferred soil it can carry on across a hard surface, where the print grows fainter with every step. There, impress the tool into a layer of damp pigment or into paint that is not yet dry. Finally unify the prints with a muted wash, so that they look like part of the terrain.
