An accessory ammunition set in 1:35 scale: the 7.5 cm Sprgr.Patr.34 high-explosive round for the Kw.K.40 and Stu.K.40 guns in the L/43 as well as the L/48 version.
Responsibility details are not available.
The subject is a fixed round of 7.5 cm caliber intended for the Kw.K.40 gun and for its Stu.K.40 variant in assault guns. The set covers both of the barrel lengths these weapons came in, L/43 as well as L/48; the number after the slash gives the length of the barrel in multiples of the caliber, not the caliber itself. The Kw.K.40 was the main armament of Panzer IV medium tanks from the F2 version, and the Stu.K.40 was carried by the StuG III and StuG IV assault guns.
The Sprenggranatpatrone 34 was high-explosive ammunition, the counterpart of the armor-piercing round. It was aimed at targets against which full penetrating power would be pointless: infantry in the open, firing positions, lightly protected vehicles and buildings. In practice it was the most frequently fired type of round, which is a good reason to show it on a model.
Cut the surplus material away with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the rest off so that the transition between the mouth of the case and the body of the projectile stays legible. Wash and degrease the parts before painting. On German ammunition the color coding of projectiles differed according to the type of filling and the period, so work from a period photograph or from the manufacturer's instructions; those are also a guide to the choice of glue, because that depends on the material of the parts.
It will find use in an open fighting compartment, in the stowage bins inside a hull, in a diorama with ammunition being replenished and as a small detail scattered around a vehicle. Paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
