An accessory for painting, not a kit. The templates set the boundary between the rubber and the disk of a road wheel, so you do not have to draw it around freehand. The set is cut for the model of the amphibious carrier AAVP-7A1 in the RAM/RS version from the manufacturer Hobby Boss, and the outline of the masks therefore corresponds to the wheels from this mold.
The AAVP-7A1 is an American amphibious tracked carrier. The designation RAM/RS refers to an upgrade program, in the course of which the vehicles got among other things a reworked running gear, so that the wheels differ visually from the older machines. For masking that means that templates cut exactly for this version have to be used.
A well-adhered mask looks different once pressed down from one merely laid on loosely. The margin darkens around the whole perimeter and blends with the surface of the part, and nowhere is a light rim or a small bubble visible. Run a blunt toothpick along the edge and watch whether it lifts anywhere. That tends to be mainly where a wheel is not perfectly round, or where flash from the parting line of the mold has stayed. Do the check in sharp side light, in which every edge that has not seated shows up as a shadow. When a mask does not seat on the first attempt, lift it, degrease the area and try again, as repeated reapplication to one place does not pay off, because the tack gradually drops.
The package holds only the masking templates. The kit, paints and thinners are not included in it. Before purchase verify that you are building exactly the kit mentioned.
