An Aber photo-etched detail set - vol. 2, fenders for the German Sd.Kfz. 251/1 Ausf. D armored personnel carrier in 1:35 scale replaces the plastic fenders with a fine metal version.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not a vehicle model but a set of photo-etched brass parts from the Polish company Aber. The add-on set vol. 2 is focused on the fenders and their mounts for models of the German Sd.Kfz. 251/1 medium armored half-track in the Ausf. D version. The thin metal parts replace the thick-walled plastic fenders.
The Sd.Kfz. 251, commonly called the Hanomag, was the most widespread German medium armored half-track of the Second World War; it carried infantry and served in many specialized versions. The Ausf. D was the last, production-simplified variant with straight sides and integral side stowage bins.
The fenders are cut from the fret, cleaned up and bent along the scored lines; a photo-etch bending tool helps. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue. Degrease the metal before painting and prime it with a primer for metal.
This is an accessory, not a standalone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
