An injection-molded plastic kit of the British Churchill Mk.VII infantry tank in 1:35 scale from the Taiwanese maker AFV Club. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted; cement for plastic, paints and basic tools are needed to build it. The Churchill was one of the British infantry tanks, that is machines intended above all to support advancing infantry. It is characterized by a long, low hull with tracks running around the whole silhouette and by an exceptional ability to cope with broken terrain. The Mk.VII version was the more heavily armored form with a 75 mm gun and a redesigned turret; it was used in Western Europe from 1944. It was precisely the combination of thick armor and low speed that made up the character of the machine: it was not fast, but it could take a hit and got to places other tanks could not.
With a tank whose tracks run like this, the rule is that the running gear and the inner faces of the side covers have to be finished and painted before the hull is closed — later you will not reach them. Take the parts off with nippers, level the sprue gates and glue the joints with liquid cement by capillary action. After the primer coat, apply the base shade, then lighten it on the upper surfaces and use a wash to emphasize the rivets and the gaps. For the weathering, mud and dust effects concentrated in the lower part of the hull and in the running gear, where dirt really collects, work well. Apply the decals onto a gloss base and finally unify the surface with a matte coat.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
