Corporal Missile and Launcher 1:35 is a plastic kit of the American short-range ballistic missile together with its launcher, from Revell.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:35 scale from Revell. The subject is the American Corporal ballistic missile and the equipment it was launched from. It is therefore a combination of missile equipment and a ground carrier, not a classic aircraft or tank model. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted and is put together with cement for plastic.
The Corporal was an American guided short-range ballistic missile of the 1950s. It was powered by a liquid-propellant engine, which meant a fairly lengthy preparation before launch and a large tail of support equipment. The missile was carried lying on a semi-trailer and raised into the vertical before launch by a tilting frame. It was in service with the ground forces of the United States and Great Britain, and was later replaced by solid-propellant designs that were simpler to operate.
The body of the missile is a large smooth surface of revolution on which every imperfect joint shows. Fill the mold seams carefully, then sand them down through progressively finer paper, ideally with a backing block so that the surface stays cylindrical. Keep the chassis and the frame of the launcher as subassemblies and join them only after the less accessible spots have been painted. Apply a filler primer before painting, which will at the same time reveal any remaining scratches. The smooth surfaces of the missile come out better from an airbrush in several thin coats; spray a gloss coat compatible with the paint you have used under the decals and, once dry, even the surface out with a matte coat. The running gear and the underside of the carrier suit restrained dust shades and a darker accent in the recesses.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
