A photo-etched detail set for the Finnish BT-42 assault gun - vol. 2, fenders in 1:35 from Aber. An add-on set of photo-etched fenders for a plastic model, not a model of its own.
Responsibility details are not available.
An add-on photo-etched detail set from Aber in 1:35 scale focused on the fenders. It is not a model but a set of fine metal parts with which you replace the thick-walled plastic fenders of a kit of the Finnish BT-42 assault gun with realistic thin photo-etched parts. The set follows on from the basic volume 1. The exact content is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The BT-42 was a Finnish assault gun of the Second World War. It came about by rebuilding a captured Soviet BT-7 fast tank, on whose chassis the Finns mounted an armored turret with a British 114 mm howitzer. Thin fenders with their characteristic deformations are among the typical features that photo-etched material imitates more faithfully than plastic.
Photo-etched fenders are easy to shape and to bend slightly, which gives the vehicle a realistic worn look. Separate the parts with a sharp knife, bend them over a ruler and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Degrease the metal before painting and give it a coat of primer.
This is a standalone photo-etched accessory for experienced modelers. The model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
