The set brings two pieces of the fire extinguisher operating handle in 1:35 scale. According to the name it is intended for models of the American M48A5 tank and the machines of the M60 family. It is a small element that on the real vehicle serves to set the fire suppression system going, and it is precisely such small parts that make the difference on a finished model between an outline and a convincing machine.
The injected parts of kits tend to be thicker than the scale allows in places with thin handles and rods, because a mold will not hold a thinner shape. A replacement part is therefore finer and stands up better to a close look. Two pieces in the package allow two models to be fitted, or a second piece to be held in reserve in case the first gets lost during handling.
The parts are not polystyrene, so do not glue them with modeling cement for plastic but with cyanoacrylate glue. Cut the excess material and any production marks off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and carefully sand the remainder back. Wash and degrease the part before painting, otherwise the paint holds badly. Compare the position on the vehicle with the instructions for the kit and with documentation for the particular version.
Two parts are supplied, as the name states. Paints, glue and other materials are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
