The Model Craft glass fiber scratch pen is a pen-shaped tool with an extending bundle of glass fibers 4 mm in diameter. It works as a fine abrasive and cleaning tool: by extending the fibers, as on a clutch pencil, you set their length and thereby the degree of abrasion. It serves to clean, derust, deburr and polish small areas on metal, plastic and wood, for instance to prepare a surface before gluing or painting or to clean photo-etched parts and contacts. Replacement fiber refills are available for the tool.
