An Israeli container for drinking water in a version that differs from a fuel container in the shape of the cap and in the material of the real subject. The package holds eight pieces.
Responsibility details are not available.
Israeli armored units operated in an environment where the supply of drinking water decided the length of a deployment just as much as the supply of fuel. Water containers were therefore carried in large numbers, hung in baskets on the sides and at the rear of vehicles, and they were deliberately made different from fuel jerrycans so that no mix-up would occur. The difference is visible in the wider neck with a different cap and in a different layout of the handles. Eight pieces in the package match the way these containers were actually carried, that is, in whole groups.
Here the material of the model shows itself in a way that does not matter elsewhere. Cast resin tends to be semi-translucent and light penetrates a few tenths of a millimeter into it. Nobody notices that on darkly painted objects, but water containers tend to have light shades, and a thin coat of paint therefore lightens at the edge of the container and the mass starts to look like wax. The solution is a covering primer, ideally in gray or white, applied in a continuous coat before the shade itself comes up. Only over a covering base does a light color hold its tone over the whole area.
Dust in a dry environment does not run, it settles. It gathers in horizontal nooks and on upper surfaces, while the vertical walls stay relatively clean. Rusty traces do not belong here at all; the patina should come from wear and from a deposit of light dust.
The containers suit the baskets on a truck bed, the hanging frames on a turret and a load set down beside a vehicle.
