New Ware 1:48 Fairchild A-10A Thunderbolt II EXPERT: pre-cut kabuki paper masking templates at the widest level of the range for a clean spray on the A-10A ground-attack aircraft in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of pre-cut New Ware masking templates for the American ground-attack aircraft Fairchild A-10A Thunderbolt II in 1:48 scale. The masks are cut on a plotter from fine Japanese kabuki paper, which conforms exactly to the shape of the part, does not let paint under the edge and lifts off after spraying without damaging the surface underneath. The EXPERT designation marks the widest level in the New Ware range: compared with the basic BASIC set it covers more areas of the model, so hand masking is reduced to a minimum.
The A-10 canopy has pronounced frames that are hard to follow with a brush. With a mask you simply lay the template down, smooth the edges and spray: the lines come out sharp and uniform all over the model. The masks also suit the landing gear wheels, where they separate tire from rim cleanly without laborious brushwork around the circumference. After spraying, lift the masks as soon as the paint has flashed off, ideally at a sharp angle.
The Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II is an American aircraft for close support of ground troops, first flown in the 1970s. The design is subordinated to survivability and firepower: the pilot is protected by a titanium bathtub, the main weapon is a seven-barrel 30 mm rotary cannon, and the machine can carry a wide range of external stores on its wing racks.
This is a masking accessory: the aircraft kit is not included in the package.
