A plastic kit of the Japanese guided missile destroyer DDG-175 Myoko in 1:350 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
DDG-175 Myoko is a guided missile destroyer of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force and belongs to the Kongo class, that is to the ships equipped with the Aegis combat system. The silhouette is recognizable at first glance: a massive angular superstructure with fixed radar panels, a low funnel and a clean deck with vertical launch cells forward and aft. The ships of this class were the first Japanese carriers of the Aegis system and were built in the nineteen-nineties.
This is a plastic kit in 1:350 scale. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The number of parts, the finish offered and the order of the steps are given in the manufacturer's instructions included with the kit. From them you also learn which parts are fitted to the deck and at which stage it is best to spray them.
Glue the hull together first and fill and sand the seams while there is still good access to them. Spray the deck and the sides before you fit the small parts, otherwise neither brush nor nozzle will reach the areas between them. Add the masts, antennas and other fine parts right at the end, because they bend easily. It is advisable to set the model on a base or into a display case where the fine parts cannot be caught. If you want to add rigging, prepare the thread in advance and run it only once the superstructure is finished.
The kit suits a modeler with an interest in modern warships and anyone who wants to try a large model in the comfortable 1:350 scale. Paints, glue and rigging are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
