Kepi Blanc – magazine 1:35 is a printed paper accessory for a diorama. Miniature magazines for a scene are made from the sheet; it is not a kit and not a waterslide decal.
Responsibility details are not available.
A printed paper sheet intended as an accessory for dioramas in 1:35 scale. The motifs of magazine covers are cut out of it and folded into small props. It is not a kit and it is not a decal – the sheet is cut, bent and glued. It brings into a scene the thing that is hardest to substitute in miniature: a trace of human presence.
A magazine left on a crate, tucked behind the seat of a vehicle or rolled up in a pocket – details like these tell the viewer more about a display than another model of machinery. That is precisely why it pays not to place the props at random, but where they make sense: by the spot where somebody is sitting, resting or waiting. Paper has the advantage over a decal of having volume and of being able to be rolled, folded and crumpled.
In 1:35 scale the props are small, so get out tweezers with a fine tip and a new scalpel blade. Score the line of the bend, fold the paper over the edge of a rule and hold it for a while. Glue in spots with PVA glue; super glue soaks through paper. Tone the white edges after cutting with a brush. Aging is managed by a very thinned wash, fine yellowing of the edge and a bent corner. Matte clear coat at the end unifies the sheen with the surrounding materials and strengthens the prop, so that it survives handling of the scene.
A printed paper accessory for a diorama, not a model. Glue, paints and clear coat are not included in the package.
