This resin detail set from PANZER ART brings a replacement barrel for the 90 mm Rheinmetall (RhK) gun of L40 length with a protective canvas, as carried by the West German Kanonenjagdpanzer tank destroyer. The set is not a model of the whole vehicle but an accessory for detailing a base kit.
The Kanonenjagdpanzer, nicknamed after its armament, was a West German tank destroyer of the Cold War era, armed with a 90 mm gun. It served with the Bundeswehr as an antitank weapon with a low silhouette. A canvas stretched over the barrel protected the muzzle and the sighting mechanism from dust and bad weather.
Wash the mold release agent off the casting, cut off the casting block and true the mating surface up. Bond the resin with super glue, with respiratory protection while sanding. The folds of the canvas come out once it is painted, lightened with a dry brush and picked out with a wash.
