The 1:35 Land Wasser Schlepper wheel masking set is a sheet of pre-cut templates, which during spraying separate the rubber tire of a road wheel from its disk. The set is cut for the kit from the manufacturer Hobby Boss.

It is not a kit, but an accessory for painting. The templates follow the shape of the boundary between the rubber tire and the disk of the wheel, so you do not have to draw the boundary between the two shades freehand with a brush nor block it out with a compass-cut template. The set is cut specifically for the model of the Land Wasser Schlepper from the manufacturer Hobby Boss, so the outline of the masks corresponds to the wheels from this mold.
First spray the wheel in the shade that is to stay on the tire, that is as a rule dark rubber. Once dry, apply the mask, press it down around the whole perimeter with a blunt toothpick or a skewer and spray the disk over with the color of the vehicle. Take the mask off at the moment when the paint has set but is not yet fully cured; the edge then stays sharp and does not crumble.
Wheels tend to be the first but not the only place where a boundary of colors is dealt with by a mask. The Land Wasser Schlepper is an amphibious tracked tractor with a boat hull and a superstructure whose cab is glazed, so before painting the hull the windows, the vision ports, the headlights and other clear parts need blocking out. Use ordinary masking tape or liquid mask on them and apply them at the same phase as the wheel masks, by which you will save yourself a whole drying cycle. The exhausts, the handles and the towing eyes, by contrast, are usually not masked and are painted in with a brush at the end.
The package holds only the masking templates. The kit, paints and thinners are not included in it. Before purchase verify that you are building exactly the kit mentioned, as masks from another set need not fit the wheels.
