A set of wooden boxes for dioramas in 1:35 scale, nine pieces according to the name. A larger number of pieces is useful anywhere a scene is meant to look lived in: a loaded truck bed, a heap in the corner of a store, an improvised table or a barricade. This is not a vehicle model but a scenic accessory in its own right, assembled from laser cut wooden parts.
Cargo is never stacked as a regular grid. Once you stack the boxes slightly irregularly, turn one, tilt another and leave some open or damaged, the scene comes alive at once. The edges and corners are the first thing to get scuffed in service, so that is exactly where it pays to emphasize the wear. It is also good to set the boxes apart in color, so that the stack does not look like a single casting.
Break the parts out of the sheet and sand the remains of the tabs down. They are glued with PVA wood glue or with thin cyanoacrylate glue applied sparingly. Lay the base tone down in heavily thinned paint so that the grain of the wood stays visible, and vary the shades between the individual boxes slightly. The grayish cast of weathered wood can be created by dry-brushing lightly with a light color across the edges. Finally, dust the lower parts with pigments so that they match the ground of the diorama.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
